Good and Bad in the Political Institutions!
Political parties are not washing machines that can cleanse dirt from clothes of the people associated with them (or people supporting them). When people are dirty from inside then even political parties cannot do anything to cleanse their dirt.
People (good or bad) make political parties and political parties do not make people (good or bad).
Ideology or ideological differences (left or right) have ZERO POWER to diminish the core character, morality/ethics or humanity of a specific individual. No matter who makes the claim - it is never possible!
If someone is honest and good they will be honest, irrespective of their religious beliefs, political affiliation or ideology.
If someone is good in their character, they would always stand for righteousness even if they have to stand against their own family and their own people.
Being a rightist (externally) does not make someone ALWAYS RIGHT (internally).
I have seen a few leftists and rightists who otherwise don't believe in God and are very disruptive thinkers but they truly hold immense respect for their domestic labour, employees, and common people. In a way, they are rightist in their actions. They see God in the people who serve them. Again, there are a few leftists and rightists who have failed to stand for social justice (for reasons better known to them). Fundamentalism or extremism of any kind that stands for social injustice is divorced from humanitarianism and is not a symbol of progressive civilization.
So, I personally don't buy any story which perpetuates the disillusioned thought that left/right ideology or political affiliations (left/right) can define the character of an individual. People always have the power to stand for Righteousness.
Criminals are criminals regardless of their ideology, religion, profession, and political affiliation.
Standing for social justice, morality, human welfare, and righteousness is not our choice but our responsibility.
